Music Boosters Meeting Notes

 

Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

 

Meeting called to order by Seth Mirowitz

(on behalf of Tracey Hofmann, en route) at 7:00 PM.

 

Attendees: Seth Mirowitz, Kristine Clarke, Lauren Greenberg, Jodi Gorenberg, Jason Gallagher, Leah Wallach, Ted Wallach, Tracey Hofmann, Howard Megdal, Eileen Maisel, and Tim Keleher.

 

Announcements:

• First Meeting of 2026-27!

• Succession Planning for 2027-28 School Year

  • Music Boosters is looking for interested members to take over the office of Treasurer and President for next school year.

  • If interested in the Treasurer position, please contact Jason Gallagher at jasoncg878@gmail.com.

  • If interested in the President position, please contact Tracey Hofmann at heldt2002@yahoo.com.

Status Updates:

• Marching Band – Jodi Gorenberg

  • First competition is Saturday, September 26 at Williamstown.

  • Jodi will be sending out the itinerary and info in the next few days.

  • MB added 3 new color guards last week.

  • The last few games it has been difficult for the cheerleaders to hear the marching band and they have requested to be closer to fix the problem.

  • The new Marching Band banner is in process.

• Ensembles/Instrumental – Mr. Timothy Keleher

  • The completion of the auditorium is on schedule to be done by January.

  • Both choral and instrumental Winter concerts are scheduled for January.

  • The musical this year will be Shrek and it is planned for April.

  • The Spring instrumental concert will be in April and the choral in May.

  • Back to School Night – the jazz band and string quartet will be performing that night.

• Membership – Seth Mirowitz

  • Due to the Fall Preview being cancelled this year, we will be doing the following for outreach to past and future members:

    • Sending an email out to past members including the discount code.

    • Jodi will send the email list for the Marching Band members to Tracey and Seth to utilize as well.

  • Membership to Date – 19 members – 4 premium, 14 gold, and 1 alumnus. Which puts us at $2,175.00.

• Treasurer – Jason Gallagher

  • Funding ideas discussion

    • Three Dine & Donate dates have been scheduled – Chipotle (October 5) McDonald’s (September 21) and Panda Express (12/8).

    • Requesting space in the PTA and East newsletters to reach members.

    • Discussion of opportunities to raise funds relating to the new auditorium (seat plaques? Wall plaque?) Tracey to follow-up with Dr. Cafagna.

    • Budget approved for 2026-27 - $2,000/Marching Band, $2,000/Vocal, $2,000/Instrumental and scholarships.

    • East Music t-shirts are being ordered.

    • Marketing – idea to have the Marching Band members make a video for Music Boosters publicity.
