Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

November 17, 2025

 

Meeting called to order by Tracey Hofmann at 7:00 PM.

Attendees: Kristine Clark, Linda Collazo, Mandy Francoeur, Jodi Gorenberg, Tracey Hofmann, Seth Mirowitz, Tim Keleher, and Myra Ortega.

 

Minutes from October 20, 2025 meeting approved.

 

Music Department Reports

Vocal Department

 

• Seventeen Cherry Hill students were selected into the All South Jersey Chorus.

• Seven CHE students were selected into the All South Jersey Honors Chorus.

• Five East students in the New Jersey All-State Choir performed their final performance on November 16 at the NJPAC.

• Belles of East and Voce will perform at multiple holiday events including:

  • December 7 - Cherry Hill Winter Festival held at Croft Farm held from 12 to 4pm;

  • December 13 – Bethel Coffee House held from 2 to 5pm (performance time approximately 2 to 2:30pm);

  • December 15 – Friends of Police Holiday Party for underprivileged children along with Jazz Standards and CH West Singers;

  • December 17 – Philadelphia Christmas Village, performance at 6pm;

  • December 19 – Haddonfield Candlelight Shopping, caroling from 6:30 to 8:30pm;

  • December 6, 7, 12, 20, 21, and 25 at Caffe Aldo Lamberti – Voce Quintets will perform for the dining patrons between 6:15 and 9pm. 

• The Winter Choral Concert will be held at CH East on January 15, 2026 at 7pm.

• Cherry Hill East will host a 2026 International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) quarterfinal competition on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

• Stay Tuned will perform in the ICHSA quarterfinal competition at CHE on January 24.

• The CHE choir trip to Williamsburg VA will take place from April 9 to 12.

 

Marching Band

 

• Aaron Mirowitz won a Tournament of Bands (TOB) Region 1 SJ Scholarship at the Championship Competition on October 19. Congratulation Aaron!

• Marching Band will perform at Rosa Middle School on November 24 and at Beck Middle School on a date to be announced. The skill and allure of marching band will be demonstrated for middle school students with the hopes of encouraging a new crop of marching band performers.

 

Instrumental Department

 

• Two CHE students were selected into the NJ All-State Orchestra.

• All-South Jersey Band auditions will take place in December.

• All-South Jersey Jazz auditions will take place in March.

• December 11 the Chamber Music Groups will perform a holiday concert at the Cherry Hill Public Library at 1pm.

• The Winter Instrumental Concert will be held at East on December 18 at 7pm.

• Professional violinist Michael Ludwig will perform with the Symphony Orchestra in a John Williams version of a Fiddler on the Roof medley at the Winter Concert. The CHE Music Boosters will supply an honorarium for Mr. Ludwig.

• Jazz Band will perform concerts at 4 Cherry Hill elementary schools; Bret Harte, Johnson, Horace Mann, and Woodcrest.

• In the new year, Jazz Band will perform and compete in festivals including Jazz at Lincoln Center at Temple University, the Berks Jazz Festival, and the Jazz Kids Invitational at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Dates to be announced.

• Unfortunately, conflicts with other music events and senior schedules have made it difficult to accept opportunities for the Symphony Orchestra to perform at The Kennedy Center in March (spring musical) or Carnegie Hall in June (date after graduation). The possibility of Symphony Orchestra performing at Carnegie Hall is still being explored.

• The Jazz Band’s performance of Chuck Mangione’s Oscar winning music from the movie The Children of Sanchez, was such a big hit at the Fall Preview Concert, it may be reprised at the Spring Instrumental Concert.  Truly a performance not to be missed!

• Pit Orchestra rehearsals for the spring musical Footloose will begin in December.

• The Spring Instrumental and Choral Concerts will be held at Cherry Hill West due to the auditorium being unavailable due to much needed renovations.

• It is expected that the East auditorium will reopen in January 2027.

 

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

 

• Membership now stands at 81 total.

• Past and possible future fundraising ideas discussed including a suggestion for a “Dinner and a Movie” fundraiser combining a restaurant night with a Regal Movie Ticket Bundles fundraiser.

 

Adjournment/ Next Meeting

 

• Next meeting to be held Monday, December 15 at 7 PM.

• Cherry Hill East Music Booster meetings to be held on the 3rd Monday of each month of the school year.

• Meeting adjournment at 8:03pm.
