Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

April 20, 2026

 

Meeting called to order by Tracey Hofmann at 7:00 PM.

Attendees: Kristine Clarke, Linda Collazo, Jason Gallagher, Leah Wallach, Tracey Hofmann, Howard Megdal, and Tim Keleher.

 

Minutes from the February 16, 2026 meeting approved.

(Note: due to a weather emergency-related school closure, no CHEMB meeting was held in March 2026.)

 

Music Department Reports

 

Instrumental Department

 

• The Chamber Music Concert, held at the Cherry Hill East Little Theater, was a success on April 15.

• Jazz Band performed at the Naptown Jazz Invitational at University of Maryland, Baltimore on April 18. U. S. Army Blues, the premier jazz ensemble of the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own”, performed with and conducted clinics mentoring the students. East’s Jazz Band was awarded Best Rhythm Section. Soloist Awards went to Daniel Cezair for piano, Zachary Davis for tenor sax, Rivi Jay for drums, and Lukas Ortega for bass.

• Lab Band will perform at a Jazz Festival on Friday, April 24.

• The Spring Instrumental Concert will be held on April 30 at Cherry Hill West’s auditorium at 7 pm. To prepare for the location, students will help with loading the required equipment into the Marching Band trailer on the morning of April 30. The students and equipment will be transported to West for a day of preparation and rehearsal before the concert.

• Mr. Keleher will inquire about the possibility and equipment available to live stream and record the concert at the West auditorium.

 

Vocal Department

 

• Stay Tuned won the ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Semifinal on March 28. Stay Tuned has advanced to the ICHSA National Finals to be held in NYC on April 24.

• Coffee House will be held May 1 at 7 pm in the Cherry Hill East Cafeteria.

• The Spring Choral concert will be held May 21 at 7 pm at Cherry Hill West’s auditorium.

• Senior Solo Night will be held June 10 at 7 pm in the Cherry Hill East cafeteria

 

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

 

• Membership numbers total 91. Memberships are somewhat lower than last year’s total of 109.

• The Treasurer Report was shared and discussed.

• The CHEMB insurance policy and taxes discussed.

• The Boosters t-shirt contest deadline has been extended.

• Discussion was held related to requests to the teaching staff for specific needs to be funded by the Music Boosters. High cost specific needs will be the focus of fund raising efforts by the Music Boosters. 

 

Adjournment/ Next Meeting

 

• Next meeting to be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 7 PM.

• Cherry Hill East Music Booster meetings to be held on the 3rd Monday of each month of the school year.

• Meeting adjournment at 7:50 pm.
