Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

January 12, 2026

 

Meeting called to order by Tracey Hofmann at 7:00 PM.

Attendees: Kristine Clarke, Linda Collazo, Tracey Hofmann, Tim Keleher. Laurie Lausi, and Myra Ortega

The date for Coffee House on the December minutes was revised to April 25, 2026.

Minutes from the December 15, 2025 meeting approved with the revision listed above.

 

Music Department Reports

 

Vocal Department

 

• The small vocal groups Voce and The Belles of East had a busy holiday season successfully performing at multiple venues.

• The Winter Choral Concert will be held at Cherry Hill High School East on January 15, 2026 at 7pm.

• Cherry Hill East will host a 2026 International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) quarterfinal competition on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Tickets will be sold online at Varsity Vocals. Students will arrive at 2pm, the event will be held from 7pm to 10pm. A Sign Up Genius will be forwarded for volunteer help with concessions.

• Stay Tuned will perform in the ICHSA quarterfinal competition at CHE on January 24.

• The Choral trip to Williamsburg VA will be held from April 9 to 12. During the trip students will attend a master class, perform including in competition, and attend the award ceremony at Busch Gardens.

• A Show Choir has been organized under the Cherry Hill Recreation Department that will meet on Monday and Wednesday nights at Croft Farm for students in 4th through 8th grade.

 

Instrumental Department

 

• The gift honorarium for Michael Ludwig’s guest performance with the Cherry Hill East Symphony Orchestra at the Winter Instrumental Concert, provided by the Cherry Hill East Music Boosters, was very much appreciated.

• Rehearsals are underway for Footloose, the Spring Musical.

• The Spring Musical will be the last performances held before the auditorium is closed for renovations.

• Due to the auditorium closure, the Spring Instrumental and Choral Concerts will be held at the Cherry Hill High School West auditorium.

• The logistics and feasibility of a 2026 Fall Preview Concert is being considered due to the East auditorium closure. It is noted that CHHS West has a smaller auditorium than the current CHHS East auditorium.

• The estimated date of completion of the CHHS East auditorium has been moved up to December 1, 2026. Progress on the auditorium renovations will be taken into account when planning for the 2026-2027 school year concerts.

• The upcoming 8th Grade to Freshman Orientation will be held on January 29 from 7pm to 9pm. Jazz Standards will perform at the orientation from 6pm to 7:15pm.

 

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

 

• Membership numbers are lower than last year’s numbers.

• Spring Concert ads are being considered with mention of volunteer help needed to format the ads for the new pdf programs.

• The T-shirt contest will be organized soon.

 

Adjournment/ Next Meeting

 

• Next meeting to be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 7 PM, due to the conflict with the President’s Day holiday being the 3rd Monday in January.

• Cherry Hill East Music Booster meetings to be held on the 3rd Monday of each month of the school year.

• Meeting adjournment at 7:27pm.
