Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

September 15, 2025

 

Meeting called to order by Tracey Hofmann at 7:04 PM.

Attendees: Christine Clarke, Linda Collazo, Jason Gallagher, Jodi Gorenberg, Tracey Hofmann, Laurie Lausi, Howard Megdal, and Leah Wallach.

 

Music Department Reports

 

Vocal Department

• An extra section of Vocal Workshop was added this year due to an increased number of students enrolling, now at 100 members.

• Concert Choir has 28 members.

• East Singers has 50 student members.

• Voce and The Belles of East will be performing holiday tunes at the Christmas Village.

• Cherry Hill East will again host the ICHSA finals this year with Stay Tuned competing.

• The 2026 Coffee House will be held at East in cafeterias 1 and 2 due to the auditorium renovations.

• Plans are being made for a choir trip to Williamsburg VA in April. To help offset the cost for students, different fundraising options are being considered.

 

Marching Band

• The Marching Band will be competing in the New Jersey Marching Band Association and in Tournament of Bands competitions this season.

• The vendor who supplied meals for MB members in previous years has changed management leading to increased price and decreased quality. Ms. Gorenberg is negotiation with the current vendor and researching alternative vendors for quotes and better options.

• Parent volunteers to help build boxes for the performance and to transport the staging to shows are being sought.

• The Marching Band senior banners have arrived and are being hung on the stadium fence this week!

 

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

• The Boosters will have a display table set up in the D wing at East Back-to-School Night this Thursday, September 18.

• Hofmann made a brief video to be played at BTSN classes to introduce the Boosters to parents and appeal for volunteers and new members.

• A special discount code for CHEMB membership will be offered at BTSN lasting through the day after.

• Programs to be in an all-digital format this year.

• Alternative perks for Boosters Premium members are being explored. Options being considered include a full-page ad in the digital program, or a printed picture of the members’ child in their music ensemble.

• Tasks that require volunteer help include organizing a restaurant night, T-shirt packaging, and digital program construction (perhaps using Flipsnack or similar program).

• Ms. Hofmann plans to put out regular eblasts to the CHEMB community and asked that teachers provide information and updates that they would like shared with members.

• Ms. Hofmann asked teachers for wish-list items. Tires for the MB tractor and screens for the new auditorium stage were two items mentioned. CHEMB will promote awareness of the needs and will work to raise funds for wish list items.

• Next meeting to be held Monday, October 20 at 7 PM.

• Cherry Hill East Music Booster meetings to be held on the 3rd Monday of each month of the school year.
