Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

April 21, 2025

 

Meeting called to order by Tracey Hofmann at 7:02 PM.

Attendees: Linda Collazo, Jodi Gorenberg, Tracey Hofmann, Tim Keleher, Lisa Zorn, Seth Mirowitz, Myra Ortega, and Xiaojun (Jenny) Yuan.

 

March 17, 2025 meeting minutes approved. 

 

Music Department Reports

 

Marching Band

 

• Marching Band preparation underway for the 2025 season.

• Drum Major tryouts started today, April 21.

• Marching band show for the 2025 season to be picked soon. Students to vote from options.

Instrumental

 

• Coffee House to be held on April 26. T-shirts on sale.

• On March 17 two East students were accepted into the All South Jersey Jazz Band and three students qualified for the All New Jersey Jazz Band.

• Jazz Band to attend the Naptown Jazz Kids (NJK) Big Band Invitational with Steve Fitch at the University of Maryland Baltimore on April 26.

• Bands Concert to be held at CHE on April 30 at 7:30 PM.

• Orchestra and Jazz Bands Concert to be held at CHE on May 1 at 7:30 PM.

 

Vocal Department

 

• Stay Tuned attended the ICHSA semi-finals on March 29 but did not advance to the finals.

• Stay Tuned recognized with an award at an April 5 charity concert event.

• East Singers, Chansons, and Concert Choir to perform at Music in The Parks 2025 at Six Flags Great Adventure on May 2.

• Choral Concert to be held at CHE on May 21 at 7:30 PM.

 

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

 

• No new memberships.

• Coffee House T-shirts on sale on the Boosters website. Money raised is for Go 4 the Goal, a charity helping children with cancer.

• Work on the Spring Concerts Program is nearing completion.

• Spring Dine & Donate tentatively planned for May at Chef Zhang on Rt. 73 in Marlton.

• The CHE Music Boosters T-shirt contest 2025 received 6 submissions. Music students voted on the designs. From the top 3 vote getters, the Boosters voted for the grand prizewinner. The winner will be announced and awarded during the Spring Concerts.

• A full remodel of the East Auditorium is scheduled to begin after the Spring Musical in mid-March 2026.  Construction is estimated to take 18 months.

• East Music Booster meetings to be held on the 3rd Monday of each month.
