Cherry Hill East Music Boosters Meeting

March 17, 2025

 

Meeting called to order by Tracey Hofmann at 7:06 PM.

Attendees: Linda Collazo, Jason Gallagher, Tracey Hofmann, Seth Mirowitz, Myra Ortega, JD Palmer, and Xiaojun (Jenny) Yuan.

 

Greetings and introductions held.

February 24, 2025 meeting minutes approved. 

 

Music Department Reports

 

• Auditions for next school year’s vocal groups and jazz bands taking place.

• SJ All Jazz Band auditions held today, March 17.

• Lab Band to perform at a retirement home.

• Students invited to perform at the Teen Open Mic Night in Collingswood on March 29.

• Choir Trip ideas for April 2026 being explored. Busch Gardens or Chicago options being considered.

• Marching Band exploring competing in the NJ MB Association, US Bands, and/or the Tournament of Bands in addition to the Cavalcade of Bands competitions. 

• Chamber Music Concert to be held at East Little Theater on April 2 at 7:30 PM.

• Bands concert to be held at CHE on April 30 at 7:30 PM.

• Orchestra and Jazz Bands Concert to be held at CHE on May 1 at 7:30 PM.

• East Singers, Chansons, and Concert Choir to perform at Music in The Parks 2025 at Six Flags Great Adventure on May 2.

• Choral Concert to be held at CHE on May 21 at 7:30 PM.

 

Membership Report/ Treasurer Report

 

• No new memberships.

• Email reminder sent out for spring program Shout Outs and ads.

• Banners for seniors in the Marching Band and Color Guard quote received for $31 each.

• Discussion of a possible Boosters fundraiser selling foldable stadium seats and/or blankets with an East Marching Band & Color Guard theme.

• Discussion of possible sponsorship ads on Marching Band T-shirts.

• Spring Dine & Donate tentatively planned for the second or third week in May at Chef Zhang on Rt. 73 in Marlton.

• Explored ways to better engage with and include the East Chinese American community into the Boosters organization. Social media communication on WeChat recommended.

• Recognition of graduating seniors and possible group photos discussed.
