 May 20, 2024 meeting minutes approved

 

Music Report​

• Summer maintenance issues: new tires on the tractor; battery maintenance; broken speakers needing replacement; ongoing building construction requires daily adjustments and moving of music program/ MB supplies.

• Marching Band Camp is underway and going well with motivated students.

• MB fittings went well with much appreciated parent volunteer support.

• Gorenberg to put out a Sign Up Genius for parent volunteers for needed MB game day and event support.

• MB Parent Meeting scheduled for August 26 with a review of the upcoming season and marching band rules and attendance policies.

• Discussed MB meeting and other opportunities to reach out to parents with an appeal for parent support through volunteering with the Music Boosters and MB. Message:  Parent support is vital to help keep the music programs at East elite offerings that positively impact students’ experiences, educations, and futures.  Please join and volunteer.

• Buck Palmer will make ongoing updates to the MB schedule in Google Calendar.

• Tracey will bring the MB Google Calendar up to date.

• David Francis-Maurer to be the school administrator contact for music programs.

• Expanded opportunities for music program trips and competitions are being researched.

• Back to School Night, September 19, Booster representative (Jeff) to be present at music class sessions & Booster table.

• Fall Preview Concert, October 30.

Membership/Treasurer Reports

• New memberships: 2 Premium Membership; 1 Faculty Membership.

• Discounted Booster Memberships to be offered on the day of the MB parent meeting & Back to School Night.

• T-shirts to be ordered with winning student design by Kayla Tabares to be ready for 2024-2025 Booster members at the Fall Preview concert.
