Regular Monthly Meeting

Jeff Adams called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM

 Approval of minutes from February 2024 last meeting.

 

Music Report

​

Instrumental

• Mean Girls all-student Pit orchestra was a success!

• Spring concerts: Bands concert on 5/1 at 7:30 P.M., Orchestra/Jazz Band on 5/2 at 7:30 P.M.

​

Lab Band

• Rosa Jazz Band concert

• Rowan Jazz Festival

 

Jazz Band

• Upcoming competition festival on Friday, 3/22/24 who will qualify for championships at Marple High School in Newtown, PA at 6:00 P.M. CHE will perform at 6:55 P.M. and is open to the public.

• Reading Berks Festival-this festival is not a competition, however, will receive soloists or sectional awards.

Marching Band

• 3 shows were addressed and had the opportunity to vote which shows will be selected.

• The transition from Mr. Keleher to Mr. Palmer will be addressed regarding those students who are already in Marching Band to verify they are coming back next year.

• Mr. Palmer is recruiting middle school students at Beck, Carusi, and Rosa Intermediate schools. 

• Auditions for drum major will occur soon.

Symphony Orchestra

• Competition on 5/3/24 at Council Rock South and is open to the public. 

• Rebuilding the orchestra to match the level prior to the pandemic.

 

All State Orchestra

• 2 students were selected and pending to qualify for All Eastern

​

All State Jazz Band

• Auditions will occur in May and will perform next school year at the NJ Teacher’s convention in Atlantic City, NJ and NJPAC in Newark, NJ.

• Jazz band, jazz combo and jazz choral groups

Choral

• Stay Tuned

  • ICHSA semi-finals at Northern Highland HS.

• The semi-finals will occur on March 23rd at Northern Highlands High School

• Spring Choral Concert on 5/23/24 at 7:30 P.M.

Membership Report

Memberships added since the last meeting

 

• 3 new faculty with t-shirt memberships
   

Other Topics

Coffee House Benefit Concert

• Saturday, 4/13/24 7-10 P.M.

• Need camera assistance to live stream but not for public

• Proceeds from the Coffee House support a local charity

• Possibly need help from music boosters to help with selling t-shirts on our website

• Auditions will occur on March 25th.

Spring Concerts

• Music boosters produce one program for all concerts and Myra will coordinate with the teachers to set timelines for the program preparation.

• Boosters sell ads & shout outs. The school prints the program at no additional cost to the Boosters.

• Meeting adjourned at 7:45PM

• Next meeting will be held on April 15th at 7:00 P.M.

• Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month.
