Marching Band

Band camp starts 8/17/21, which is earlier than in past years. This time frame will continue into future seasons.

Show is being commissioned specifically for East from Key Poulan Music based off of a Puccini opera.

Membership numbers have gone down because of Covid. As of now, there are approximately 70 members.
-
Students are working on a 3 foot social distancing rule with masks being worn inside.

East/West game is October 29th (Halloween weekend)

Fall Preview and Winter Concerts will take place this school year.

Field trips will be taking place.

We are at a shortfall of $2,500 between what was spent and what was brought in

Approximately $25,000 in the bank (approximately $27,500 to start)

We have raised $2600 raised this year as compared to the $8,500 raised last year, and approx.. $13,000 raised in previous years. Much of this is due to the auditorium being closed last year and pandemic starting in March 2020.

Lead of Jagged Little Pill, Elizabeth Stanley, did Master Class with Voce and East Singers.

15th Annual East Coffee House hosted by East Singers will be a pre-recorded virtual event April 17th at 7:00 p.m. Auditions are open to all East students through virtual classroom.

Music teachers are moving forward with guidelines to have students playing instruments in school again.

Pit orchestra has already been rehearsing for Little Shop of Horrors. Students are social distancing and not sharing equipment.

East singers had a productive online visit with Kyle Pederson, the composer of one of their songs.

This week, Patty Irwin is doing workshop on vocal performance

On Wednesday, they will meet with Montclair choral director Dr. Heather Buchanan and former East student Harrison Smith

Yesterday was registration for Hamilton workshop, but the link will stay on the booster website through the end of the week.

All choirs are focusing on individual technique and theory. Some concert pieces have been learned, but groups cannot sing indoors.
